Got the other one...

I got the job at Pier 1. This one wins! YAAAAAY! I am actually a little excited. It is retail but not the Costco kind of retail. I will miss some Sundays which is part of the business, but work is work.
I GOT THE JOB! I had another interview today with the temporary manager and she said the gal that interviewed me on Monday just raved about me. That made me feel so............good, worthy of the knowledge I possess. I don't know how to put it into words. Just feels good.... I can breathe now. Aaahhhh
Come see me! Pier 1 @ Arrowhead mall. Their merchandise is so nice and they have awesome prices and even awsomer  sales. Giggle

Quilts

Yes I have been busy. I am finally getting caught up on my blogging. I have missed it. I finally have the time to post some pictures of my latest projects.

My dads Quilt. He used to own a pretty red Corvette similar to the one on the fabric. That is why I chose the Route 66 fabric.

This is actually the quilt that started it all. I stayed away from quilting because I thought I didnt have time. This is my very first "pieced" quilt. I have done the standard squares but never anything with angles and I didnt know all of the little tricks of the trade. I learned really fast that I was missing out on a world that I will never let go of again. The absolute best therapy in the world.

I did this a while ago. I want to make another one but in a different pattern. I wanted something for my sewing room. I'm happy with the way it turned out. The lights are reflecting off the glass.
More to come.....

A Blessing

I was given the blessing of making a Christening Gown for my girls friends grand child. Her name is Sevrina. She is beautiful just like her mommy. This baby has been a miracle for this family. She changed their lives. Literally! We went to the baptism and it was my first "Full Mass." It was an incredible blessing to have been able to do this for this family that I love so much!

Sewing lessons

I gave a beautiful young women (Erin) Sewing lessons these past few months. This is a picture of her second project. I had her do a little girls dress because they are faster and easier to make. You still gain the same skills. Just faster. she did and awesome job!

Birdie Saga Update

This is kind of late but I realized last night that I never posted any updates on the little birds that were living on my front door. So here we go.

They hatched..... only three hatched at first.

And they grew

And grew a little more. Now all four were hatched.

And grew some more. They were about a week old.

Then the week end came and time for Prom.
A lot of activity at the front door. I think too
much because I never saw the mommy come back.
I watched for three days and worried over those
little babies. I just couldn't stand the thought of those babies dying on my front door. It became a little personal. So I went online to research the habits
of these little creatures and learned that too many
disturbances will cause the mother to abandon the
nest. She should have been at the nest feeding them
every 10 to 15 minutes so I watched the nest for
15 minutes and she never came. I watched a little
longer and she didnt come. The babies were not
moving much and so I called the Humane Society.
Did you know their are people that will actually
take baby birds and raise them. They gave me
her number and I took them to her. So the baby
birdies are alive and well living with the bird
lady. The End......

After a year and a half

I think I might have a job finally. Actually two. I applied at TJ Maxx and Pier 1. Interviewed with both and think they are going to hire me. I hope. The pay and hours are well below what will really make a difference but it will be a start. I prefer Pier 1 over TJ Maxx but will take what ever comes. If I get pier 1 every one needs to come buy from me because I am graded on how much I sell. I love their merchandise and they have awesome sales. Any way I am excited.

simple little miracles

When I made this wreath 3 years ago
this is what it looked like and has until
this week.........................
I was going out of the front door to
get the mail and I noticed something
different..............................................

An addition to my little wreath courtesy
Mother Nature.
A little Robins nest.
It was empty so I wasn't sure if it was abandoned.
I just thought it was way cool that a little bird
chose my Wreath to nest in. But I watched any way...

The next morning I checked the nest and
Look!

I was so excited!!!! A real Robins Egg!
And they really are the green blue and speckled.  That day I had the door open and the momma bird sat in her nest and sang her happy song.

The next day had two eggs. The third day had three eggs and the fourth day.. Yep four eggs. Does it take this beautiful little creature all night to lay one egg? OUCH!!! Hhmmm......
I tried to get a picture of her but couldn't get the right angle or close enough until......

The fourth day I snuck out of the side gate and tried to get close enough. Nope need the larger lens..... I waited a little while longer and went all the way to the street and snapped shots while I walked up toward the door and finally got it. Can you see her? Click on the picture and you can get a closer look.

I have been having a really tough time lately and look how Heavenly Father helps... Every day we check to see if she is still their and she is. I try not to disturb her too much. This simple little miracle has changed the whole atmosphere in our home. Not that it was horrible but it has lifted the spirits of all of us. We all check on her at different times of the day and use the front door as little as possible. This is going to be fun to watch as it progresses. I haven't had a chance to see if their is another egg. I don't think their is but we didnt think she would lay more than three eggs. Strong little bugger. Just amazing!!!

Robyn updates to come.................

Find the blessings in the trails.
It may be difficult to see them, but they are their.
